When art therapy is offered in schools it is easily accessible and can be reached by those who may find it difficult to attend a regular session outside of school hours. It can easily fit around a child’s existing schedule so that they are not pulled out of school or important lessons. It can also work well in conjunction with other therapies, such as speech therapy or as a standalone service.
Children may have difficulty concentrating, getting on with friends, regulating emotions or have behavioural difficulties which make it hard to function in the classroom and meet their educational goals. Early intervention can help them to deal with those challenges, become more resilient and better equip them when faced with adversity in the future.
