work in schools

When art therapy is offered in schools it is easily accessible and can be reached by those who may find it difficult to attend a regular session outside of school hours. It can easily fit around a child’s existing schedule so that they are not pulled out of school or important lessons. It can also work well in conjunction with other therapies, such as speech therapy or as a standalone service.

Children may have difficulty concentrating, getting on with friends, regulating emotions or have behavioural difficulties which make it hard to function in the classroom and meet their educational goals. Early intervention can help them to deal with those challenges, become more resilient and better equip them when faced with adversity in the future.

Art therapy in schools can also include staff training, individual work with parents and carers or teachers who desire additional support in working with a challenging pupil.

If you are interested in incorporating art therapy services into your school, or would like to support an individual in school, please get in touch and I would be happy to speak further about what I can offer.
